How it works

Your question is converted to a semantic embedding and matched against a database of legislation, decisions, and guidance using hybrid search (vector + full-text). The most relevant passages are passed to Claude by Anthropic, which generates a plain-English answer grounded in the retrieved material. Every answer includes citations so you can read the original source. Answers stream in as they are generated.

For state-specific areas (tenancy, personal injury, criminal, wills & estates), you can select your state before asking to get jurisdiction-specific answers.

Document Review

Upload a PDF, Word document, or plain-text file and ask a question about it. Law Assistant analyses the document against relevant Australian legislation and explains what it means in plain English — useful for leases, employment contracts, demand letters, and other legal documents.

Supported file types: PDF, DOCX, TXT (max 5 MB). Available on Business plans and above.
